Just after the initiation of a bill by the Texas Representatives Richard Chitwood and Carpenter and Senator W.H Bledsoe, the bill got signed by the Governor Pat Neff then Texas Technological College got existence in 1923. However, the school was completely opened in 1925 including the six dissimilar buildings and 914 students. Every passing day increased its popularity throughout the world, and the Institute got various educational achievements. Later, The Law School in 1968 and School of Medicine in 1969 pumped the higher authorities to turn Technological College into the Texas Tech University in 1969. In accordance with the U.S News & World Report in 2012, Best Colleges ranked the University No.160 in the overall national universities.

Admission Criteria of Texas Tech University
The undergraduate applicants that are coming in the 10% of their graduating class and have submitted their application including all the necessary requirements by the deadline are qualified for the admission to the Texas Tech University. Furthermore, the students that are within the first quarter of their higher school graduating class and have submitted either ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1140 are also eligible for admission to the Institute. Similarly the students in the second quarter of high school graduation class and they have presented the Minimum ACT score 28 or SAT with the minimum score of 1230 are also welcomed to be qualified in their field of interest.However, all the applying students are further asked to meet the following requirements:
